Depart Entebbe on your connecting flight (via Nairobi or Dar es Salaam, depending on the airline and date). On arrival at Zanzibar airport you are met by your driver for the transfer north to your beachfront resort in Nungwi or Kendwa, about 1 hour. Settle in and enjoy your first evening by the sea.
Breakfast, then a free day on the white sand. Swim in the warm shallows, try the resort's water sports or book a snorkelling trip to Mnemba Atoll (optional, extra cost). Kendwa's beach is a popular spot for sunset drinks.
After breakfast you head south with your guide to Stone Town, the UNESCO-listed old city. Walk the narrow lanes with their carved doors, see the old fort, Forodhani Gardens, the Darajani market and the old slave market site. On the way back you visit a spice farm to see cloves, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg growing and taste fresh fruit.
A relaxed morning at the pool or beach. In the late afternoon you board a traditional wooden dhow for a sunset sail along the north coast, with soft drinks and fruit on board.
A day to do exactly as you like. Optional extras we can arrange: Prison Island (giant tortoises), Jozani Forest (red colobus monkeys), scuba diving, a spa treatment or a sunset massage on the beach.
Breakfast and check-out. Private transfer to the airport for your flight back to Entebbe.
