Fly from Entebbe to Cape Town via Johannesburg. Transfer to your hotel at the V&A Waterfront or in Sea Point. Walk along the harbour at sunset, with Table Mountain behind you.

Day-by-day itinerary
DAY2
Table Mountain and the City Bowl
Ride the rotating cable car up Table Mountain (weather permitting) for views over the city and the sea. Afterwards visit the colourful houses of Bo-Kaap and finish at Camps Bay beach for sunset.
DAY3
Cape Peninsula day
A full-day tour along the Atlantic coast: Hout Bay, the Chapman's Peak Drive (toll road, check weather), Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, then Boulders Beach to walk among the African penguins in Simon's Town.
DAY4
Free day
Your day to choose. Walk through Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, shop at the Waterfront, hike Lion's Head or visit the Zeitz MOCAA museum. Optional extras: helicopter flight, sunset catamaran.
DAY5
Winelands tour
Drive east to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, two of South Africa's oldest wine towns. Visit two or three estates for tastings amid mountain scenery. Lunch is at your own cost at one of the estate restaurants. Optional: the Franschhoek Wine Tram.
DAY6
Robben Island or free day
Optional (extra cost, book early): ferry to Robben Island to see where Nelson Mandela was held, about 3.5 hours in total and subject to weather. Otherwise enjoy a free day, perhaps a cooking class in Bo-Kaap or time on Muizenberg beach.
DAY7
Fly home
Breakfast, check-out and transfer to Cape Town airport for your flight back via Johannesburg.
