A honeymoon is the one trip most couples want to be perfect. Planning it from Uganda means thinking about flights, visas and timing earlier than for a normal holiday.
This short checklist will help you plan it without stress.
Getting there from Entebbe
Start with the date. Most couples travel within a few weeks of the wedding, so look at the dates when flights and hotels are busiest, such as school holidays and December. Next check passports, since they should have at least six months of validity, and find out which visas and vaccination papers you need.
Best time to go
Beach honeymoons are best in the dry season of the destination. For example, Zanzibar is best from June to October, Seychelles in April, May and October, Mauritius from May to December, and the Maldives from November to April.
Things to do
- Zanzibar or Diani. A short, affordable beach honeymoon close to home.
- Seychelles or Mauritius. Romantic island resorts with private beaches.
- Maldives. Overwater villas for a once-in-a-lifetime stay.
- Dubai or Bali. Combine city, adventure and relaxation.
- Safari plus beach. A bush honeymoon in Tanzania followed by Zanzibar.
Tips for Ugandan travellers
